Certification Fssc 22000

Certification Fssc 22000

The FSSC 22000 standard is a certification scheme that harmonizes agri-food safety management systems based on HACCP specifications. It combines the management systems approach, the HACCP methodology and the PRP guidelines.
The Global Food Safety Initiative has created a widely recognized set of criteria capable of defining the certification schemes for agri-food safety applicable to the whole sector. On this basis a GAP analysis was conducted on the ISO 22000 standard comparing it with the GFSI specifications. Following this, the FSSC 22000 has become the fifth certification scheme approved by the Global Food Safety Initiative.

This new certification scheme represents an effective synthesis of three distinct approaches:
- a strong reference framework for the management system integrated into the company's general system and compliant with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards;
- powerful hazard identification and risk management methodology based on HACCP principles, capable of optimizing the effectiveness and efficiency of agri-food safety;
- detailed guide of prerequisites, as defined by section ISO 22000 - 7.2, capable of responding to the needs of retailers regarding due diligence and related problems.

The FSSC 22000 scheme is based on the integration of the ISO 22000 standard, the ISO TS Technical Specifications and / or any PAS.
