The origin of Sachertorte
The original Sachertorte is copyrighted, and to date no distribution licence exists. The secrets of this cake are kept by the Hotel Sacher confectioner's in Vienna, that handcrafts it.
The Sachertorte consists of a light chocolate cake with thin layers of apricot or cherry jam, coated in dark chocolate icing.
